Course overview

 The FINANCE BANKING AND INSURANCE MSc is program designed for students wishing to achieve long-term career success and to boost employability with professional recognition opportunities, based on a solid foundation in financial reporting and analysis, in management accounting, decision-making, in and financial advisory services.

The program provides participants with an essential understanding of the principles underlying current thinking in accounting and finance demanded of successful managers.

Knowledge of how to direct an organisation strategically by analysing and interpreting financial information enabling graduates to work in a wide variety of roles such as:

FINANCE BANKING AND INSURANCE MSc are accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), This means that, on successful completion of degree, graduates will be awarded exemptions from the following modules:

F6 Taxation

F7 Financial reporting

 

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a bachelor degree from a recognised institution and demonstrate interest and motivation in the subject area. Applicants come from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including both business and non-business. Undergraduates are supposed to pass entry exams on subject area.

After completing this programme graduates:

  • will gain a thorough understanding of the main financial theories on which modern finance is founded.
  • will be able to measure, use and critically analyse financial information and data for financial and portfolio management decision-making.
  • will have the ability to evaluate corporate investment and financing decisions from both a strategic and international perspective,
  • will understand how the management accounting function influences aspects of control, evaluation and performance measurement.
  • will understand how to formulate, design and execute a business project plan using the appropriate planning tool.

 Teaching and assessment

 

Participants are supported throughout whole degree and learn through lectures, seminars, practical workshops, assessments, guided study and individual and group tutorials with your lecturers. A wide range of assessment tasks, including essays, reports, exams and presentations are used. Participants will work independently and as part of a team, including for assessments.
